You might be wondering how to sleep after Profhilo treatment and have heard all the crazy stories about traditional dermal fillers and facial pressure.
Today, we de-myth (or confirm) everything you may or may not have heard already about sleeping position.
How To Sleep After Profhilo; Tips for Sleeping After Profhilo Treatment
We’ve compiled a list of our MUST-DO tips to ensure you get the best possible Profhilo (Bio Remodelling) results.
Avoid Facial Pressure
After your Profhilo treatment, avoid facial pressure for at least 4-6 hours. This ensures that pressure on the face does not affect the product.
After 6 hours have passed, feel free to sleep however you like.
Elevate Your Head (Or Treated Area)
While Profhilo is different to a traditional filler treatment (Hyaluronic Acid), it’s still a good idea to use an extra pillow to prop your head up slightly as this head-elevated position may help reduce swelling or bruising from the treatment.
Hydration is the most important fact of life. When we put our body through any cosmetic treatment (newly injected filler) we should ensure we keep our body in an optimal state for healing. Drink plenty of water during the day of treatment and before bed (even if that means night time wake ups)
Relax Before Bed
After Bio Remodelling treatments like Profhilo injections, your body is in a state of stress. Making sure to take it easy after treatment and before bed, ensures you keep the body in a low-stress environment which promotes better sleep and healing.
Drinking alcohol affects the healing process and will disrupt your sleep. It’s been shown that even 2 standard drinks can drop your sleep effectiveness by over 50%.
Our Tip: Avoid alcohol in the days before and after treatment. If you’re spending this amount of money on your skin, you want to ensure you get the best possible results.
We all know that consuming a well-balanced diet helps your body recover and promotes better sleep. So make sure you do your best with healthy eating so your body is in an optimal healing state.
How Long After Profhilo Can You Lay Down?
It is recommended to wait at least 4-6 hours after Profhilo treatment before you lay down.
Profhilo is different to traditional dermal fillers (Concentrated Hyaluronic Acid).
However, having this upright time ensures everything stays in place and there’s no pressure placed on the skin during this initial period.
Can I Sleep On My Side After Profhilo?
Sleeping on your side after Profhilo is fine, as long as you stick to the 4-6 hour rule.
Try to minimise pressure on the treated area for at least 4-6 hours and then you’re good to go.
Side sleepers have nothing to worry about so don’t stress about this.
Is It Safe To Sleep After Profhilo Treatment?
Yes, it is safe to sleep after Profhilo treatment. We always recommend a 4-6 hour window before laying your head down but if this is not possible, it is safe to lay down.
Laying down before this time has expired may result in more swelling or bruising but you will not put your health at risk. Just do your best to stay upright for a few hours post-treatment!
Avoid Strenuous Exercise
For all our gym-goers out there, try to schedule your cosmetic treatment appointment for a training rest day. We want to avoid basic things like sweat which can complicate injection sites.
Avoid Direct Sunlight
Any heat-inducing activity can directly affect blood vessels or injection sites.
Avoid exposing your treated areas for at least a few days.

Profhilo (Hyaluronic Acid) involves your first treatment and then 4 weeks later, a second treatment. With adequate planning, you can ensure you get the best possible sleep and optimal results.
A Profhilo treatment plan can help you to fix skin laxity problems, improve skin tone, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and give you an overall refreshed look but you must ensure proper sleep hygiene and a healthy lifestyle so you get the best results.
You don’t need to sleep on your back for 48 hours or avoid sleeping altogether (as some articles may say), but to ensure a fast recovery time and amazing-looking skin, you should do your best to follow the right steps after your Profhilo treatment.
